Our School Direct (salaried) course will take a year to complete, and is a great choice if you want to stay in the world of work. The School Direct training programme (salaried) is a great employment-based route, open to graduates with at least three years’ work experience. However, we may decide to accept applications from candidates with less work experience to attract high-quality candidates in hard-to-fill subjects, such as maths and physics.
Trainees on the salaried programme are employed directly by our partnership schools, and often continue teaching in the school following training.
The cost of your training to achieve QTS and PGCE is covered by the school.
School Direct (salaried) trainees are paid as an unqualified teacher, in line with the Department for Education guidelines. This is currently £16,626 in Hampshire.
Remember, tax-free bursaries and scholarships are available in some subjects. These may make more financial sense to you than a School Direct (salaried) course, where you’ll be paid and taxed as an unqualified teacher.
