If you are interested in training to teach in Hampshire then you have come to the right place. Across our alliance, we work with some of the best secondary schools in Hampshire. You will be training with knowledgeable and enthusiastic teachers who are committed to education and leaders in their own fields. If you complete the course successfully, you will be awarded QTS and a PGCE.
As a provider we are delighted to advise that we were graded OUTSTANDING by Ofsted in November 2016: “This is outstanding provision. At every level and in every way, highly effective leaders have created a teacher training programme which regularly produces extremely proficient teachers.”
I have been fully supported in all aspects of my training, from the clear structure of the training programme at the outset, to excellent University input and meaningful, regular feedback from my mentor. Through this consistent support I feel confident and thoroughly prepared for my NQT year”
Pippa (Art & Design trainee: 2019)
Our partner schools are united in their aim to train exceptional teachers for the SCITT partnership as well as Hampshire more generally. Most of our trainees choose to take up posts in partnership schools once they have qualified; indeed, many gain teaching jobs in the schools in which they have trained. However, you are obviously free to decide where you want to teach once you have qualified and each year, a few of our trainees do take up teaching posts in other counties.
Our trainees complete the programme eager to start their teaching career and keen to continue their professional development. Our primary and secondary partner schools are skilled in identifying future leaders and some of our trainees gain promotion in the first two years of their teaching. If you choose to teach within the LEARN Alliance and develop your career with us, we will support you at every step of the way. As a Teaching School Alliance, we have training programmes for newly qualified teachers (NQTs), recently qualified teachers (RQTs) and aspiring middle leaders, senior leaders and headteachers. So, if you are ambitious and want to be supported in achieving the best for yourself, we can support your journey to success.
